WEDNESDAY 6th JUNE 2012.
After two days of sailing from Mumbai on glassy seas and hot and humid
weather we berthed at Dubai this morning. The day was hot and hazy with a hint
of sand in the air. Other than that it turned to be a really nice day.
We has a 5 hour land excursion arranged to visit sites around the city,
which included the Burj Khalifa [ “Tower of the Khalif” ], the tallest building
in the world, the Burj El Arab [“ Tower of the Arab” ], the only 7 star Hotel
in the world, and the snow ski park in the Mall of the Emirates.
Dubai is truly a magnificent city so clean and well organised. We were
taken up to the 124th floor Observation Deck of the Burj Khalifa
which is only half way up but gave us a
fantastic 360 degree view of the city. We also had some time out in the Dubai
mall which needs to be seen to be believed for shopping expeditions.
In the Mall of the Emirates, which again is an extremely large shopping
Mall, we checked out the ski park which was just mind boggling.
At the end of the excursion. we had a photo stop outside the Burj El
Arab Sails Hotel on the beach front which us infidels were not allowed in, but
it is really something out of the ordinary and a wonderfully designed building.
Overall it was a great day and again well worth the effort.
Tonight we leave for two days sailing before we reach Salalah in Oman.

The Dinner Cruise sounds like a very enjoyable experience..we will look into doing that in SEP to OCT when we come to Dubai and i really appreciate you on your efforts.
