SPAIN BARCELONA

MONDAY 2nd July 2012.

Overnighted in moderate seas in the Mediterranean from Cannes to Barcelona to a beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies of about 26 degrees. We did not experience the expected rough seas although we did have a few bumps and sways on the way.

Barcelona is wonderful city and very easy to get around, but our stay was short as we had an early afternoon departure. So we decided to do our own walking tour of The La Ramblas Promenade and Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia Church which wasn’t far from the Cruise Terminal.

It was a realy nice day for walking, so we left as soon as the ship berthed to miss the crowds, and checked them out including the local market which is next to the La Ramblas shopping strip.

Since we last visited the church 2 years ago there appears to have been very little done to the outside of the structure, so I think it will be another 100 years before its finished. We did some shopping on La Ramblas, had a coffee at Starbucks, before returning to the ship,

We have a sea day tomorrow to relax before we reach Lisbon

  1. The inside of the Sagrada Familia is magnificant.... so maybe they have spent their time doing that ...
