DUBROVNIK CROATIA

TUESDAY 26th JUNE 2012.

We overnighted across the Adriatic Sea from Venice to the sea port and city of Dubrovnik Croatia in calm seas to a beautiful clear and sunny day of about 24 degrees.

The coastline along the Croatian coast is a sight to see, with absolute magnificent views along the entire coast. The waters are blue green in colour and crystal clear. The whole area is picturesque with mountain backdrops into the sea.

We shuttle bussed from the ship into the Old Walled City of Dubrovnik and spent the morning and early afternoon roaming around the city which was like going back in time. The old city is built on the shoreline, and  its buildings, surrounding ramparts and walls are in virtual pristine condition. It is like another Venice without the canals with narrow alleys off thecobbled main thoroughfare dotted with shops, cafes and restaurants. It was a great day which included morning coffee at a cafe inside the walled city ,then lunch at a restaurant overlooking the city.

Dubrovnik is a magnificent, clean city, easy to get around and great area to visit.

This afternoon we leave for our next port of call, Naples
